Environmental Protection

ALTERNATE has always focused on environmental protection, even before Green IT became a trend in the IT sector. At an early stage sustainability was featuring high on the corporate agenda.
ALTERNATE seperates waste and saves unnecessary prints thanks to an electronic file system. Furthermore our parcels are shipped solely with ecofriendly packaging and filling.

ALTERNATE in Germany runs its own solar power plant. Photovoltaic systems annually feed about 700.000 kilowatt hours of solar electricity into the regional grid. Even when it rains, the rainwater is collected from the roofs in cisterns and utilized as process water. Moreover, the logistics centre, built in 2008, is air-conditioned by geothermics. Even the unavoidable heat from the servers is reused as heating.
